My story in short: I had a perfect 16-35f4PZ, but as always, never happy with corner sharpness, I sold it to get the GMII.

Same side, one with the camera in normal position, the other with the camera upside down. The left side is clearly softer.

The camera shop says it’s ok, zooms are never totally centered.

I wish I had kept the PZ honestly.
