There is a menu function that allows you to assign a card slot as the priority one to be used whenever returning to a two-card scenario from single card.
To add to what Abbott wrote above, when in the yellow menu and in the Record func+card/folder sel. submenu, go to Record/play, press the SET button to bring up the Record/play submenu, select the priority card and press the INFO button to activate the checkmark in the box at the bottom of the screen to lock it as the priority card slot.
