Re: Official: Leica SL3 Released!

I find it hard to believe the SL3 AF's like a Sony, but I had my fill of Sony's long ago. No character and messed up menus.

This new UI on the SL3 is incredible and I KNOW it will take me some time to adjust to its particularities. The favorites menu is gone, but one of my screen setups includes top and side Leicans then you can change some items with a tap on the LCD or if you use some all the time just set them up with a new User Profile which now offers 6 available. Setting up User Profiles just seemed easier on the SL3 too.

I have some SL2S's and that is why I got the SL3 since I have many SL lenses and also wanted to somewhat match my M11, M11M and Q3 60MP workflows. Just the multi-shot feature alone on the SL2S made it one of my favorite Leica landscape cameras. That said they forgot it on the SL3, but more than one source believes it will be back and capable of 240MP DNG single images. That nearly doubles my last Phase IQ4 with 150MP. Just selling that DB plus 5 lenses and my Alpa kit allowed me to buy all of my Leica gear with funds still in my pocket.

SL-primarily landscape and occasionally portraits or similar. Birds and bugs generally not for me. Sure I can take other cameras, but sand and wind can reek havoc on your gear and my recent Death Valley trip was perfect for the SL and the Q3.
