I will happily shoot up to 12800 (RAW files) for event work with the A1 which I find gives a good film-like grain as long as you expose correctly (having started my career way back in the film only days I have no problem with this) . The new Denoise feature in lightroom also works well if you don't overdo it though generally I prefer a bit of 'grain'
