Amazing at 1/30 second! Doesn't matter how you cut it. Not something I dare to try, unless I am shooting a status, on tripod..

Sunrise yesterday from the same place after the second snow storm in a week. There are very few open places suitable for sunrise/sunset within 15 minutes drive from where I live. Most of the farms have been sold for housing development. So please forgive me for posting sunrise shots from the same location multiple times. I love red barn in snow.

Thank you very much, Doug! Lovely sunrise shots of the snowscapes!

I was shooting near a water pond and my gear was on tripod for a while. I saw this tiny Kingfisher quite far away and that distance made if feel safe. It was watching movements of some small fish there, ready to strike. The bare 600mm didn’t get me the reach. So, I added the 1.4X, but still it didn’t get me the magnification I was looking for. Out came the 2X and voila, better… It was quite dark at the edge of the forest, and I lowered the setting to give me decent images at ISO 3200…. 1/30 second, it is! Yes, I like to push my luck, no question about it.

The second image is a fun one. To be honest, the eye of the toucan is not critically sharp under high magnification but I like the pose and body position of the toucan.

Hm, for unknown reasons I couldn't upload the second image... Weird
