Why does this thread continually drift back to what a pro needs? I’m pretty sure Sony is not targeting the A7c line of cameras at the professional market so why all this pro talk here. There is a Professional board here on FM. Go talk about your pro needs there.

Actually, I find it irrelevant whether one is a professional, hobbyist, newcomer to photography, or whatever. The information regarding a camera, in this case an a7cr, is either relative or not. What IS relative is that everyone's thoughts and questions about a camera, or whatever sub-forum is being viewed, are just as important. That's why when a participant chimes in that no serious/professional photographer would ever use (pick your topic) they open up the can of worms that results in someone responding "as a professional..... I certainly do that without problem or issue". I see that far more than someone joining in with "I'm a pro and your opinion doesn't matter". There's no need for a professional Sony and a hobbyist Sony forum to exist. What we have is a Sony forum that all can, and do, participate in. I have noticed that usually when someone contributes by saying something ignorant about "no pro would" or something similar, they end up having to then submit multiple posts trying to fend off the villagers with pitchforks, 😊 because they were fundamentally wrong with their first assertion because no two pros' needs (just like everyone else) are the same. As a semi-retire "pro" and university photography instructor, I learned a long time ago that the best photography comes from the best photographers - not necessarily the best equipment.
