I just eye measured the Sigma 150-600 external zoom vs the Sony 200-600 internal zoom, and the Sigma is about 1 1/2 to 2 inches longer @ 600. However I see what you are are referring to completely zoomed as it is shorter for transportation, as jedibrain was referring to.
