The Tamron is great but on an adapted Z7II it will be a bit front heavy which is a mild irritant for a walk about lens. This video convinced me to go with the Zeiss, especially since I have wanted a Zeiss for some time. His comments at 6:05 on nailed it for me. Also, this lens is 10 oz less than the Tamron. And I wanted a manual focus for this application. I know the Tamron is the better lens but for what I want it for this Zeiss is a perfect selection, balancing character and resolution. I hear the knocks about aperture and distance but I suspect mirrorless overcomes that. I am not doing landscapes anyway and will use my 28 1.4 for that.
