I downloaded the new LightRoom today. So, of course I had to try the new features. This image is the result at my first play with the new blur panel in LightRoom. It was shot at F.8.0 so the background was originally much more in focus. This is not a very aggressive application of the LightRoom Blur tool. It is capable of completely blurring the background, but then it looks bad to me.
Does this mean we no longer need to buy Summilux lenses? Did this turn my Cron into a Lux?

I like the optical effects of fast lenses better. But like having the new Nikon Plena, we can now choose the shape of the Bokeh Balls. !
Nothing about the blur, in the first image, makes me think “Summilux.” I prefer the image without the Blur Tool applied.
Perhaps, the Blur Tool makes the blur seem just a bit too perfect?
