Remember years ago when a neighbor called me to ask if I did dog portraiture? I kind of danced around the question not wanting to sound like a jerk, but finally I said something like, "my fee structure is probably a little high for that type of work........." or something semi-diplomatic. The lady then said, "I understand, we don't have any children, this Golden is our child, she has cancer and we really don't care what it cost to have a beautiful portrait of her to remember her by." Well, she had me at the cancer thing, so we picked a beautiful sunrise morning and captured "Callie" against a backdrop of verdant green grass and a pretty pond. She passed a few weeks later.

These folks live a few blocks from us and they wave whenever we pass each other. The lady was out walking yesterday and I waved at her, we ended up having a lengthy conversation about "Callie" and how much those shots have meant to them. They have a 40x60 framed in their living room. She mentioned that they are considering a couple of Golden pups and might like another session while they are little.

The point of this story is, one never knows where business will come from, or lead.

Jim, as you know, I have no natural children. My pups were my children and I treated them as such. It never failed that after 12-16 hr days that when I walked in the door they were there to greet me passionatley.! I could NOT have asked for anything greater!
When they passed, a piece of my heart left with them. The happiness and pleasure they brought to me is inexplicable!

If this woman comes to you for pictures of her new pups, you tell her..No fee and bill me! You know I am good for it!
