The Sony US site lists it as 1/4000 mechanical and 1/8000 electronic.


I should've realized earlier. The details I got from B&H Photo were incorrect. Sony USA states that the A7CR also offers a maximum shutter speed of only 1/4000s.

Sony also mentions that EFSC can be turned ON/OFF, so perhaps there is full mechanical for the A7CR.


… if a7cr has full mechanical shutter, sony should give 1/8000 max speed. What’s the point of a 1/4000 max speed mechanical shutter??

So Sony did fix it. 1/8000 full mechanical shutter is good enough for a7cr. I thought it is weird to give a 1/8000 efcs shutter considering how bad the Bokeh will be.
