It is a very well preserved Medieval hill top town whose origins date to the 8th century BC. The stone walls that surround the city were built by the Etruscans during the 4th century BC. It was far busier than expected and was a total pain to find a parking spot.
The weather was mostly rain but that did not deter the appetite. Osteria del Teatro, an Inviting restaurant that was terrific on all counts.
