Think I found it, VMR-30, Navy Fleet Logistics Squadron. Anyway, back to the photos! More Atalaya with the 50-135. I had the 35/1.4 with me too but the day called for Cor Pol and the filter rings on it are buggered. Some wide angle work there would be fun.

Fun shots. What’s the tail insignia on those Osprey? I’m used to seeing the drab green the Marines use around here.

Very much enjoying all postings, thanks for sharing and including lens info.
These are from Cabrillo National Monument towards Coronado island and downtown San Diego. Very strong blue humidity haze and hot afternoon massing with sharpness and color balance.
Nikkor 50-300mm 4.5 ED ais, best lens ever on a tripod or monopod, actually it vignettes at 300mm but easily correctable, sharp at all apertures and focal lengths and built like a tank, smooth focusing and zooming too, internal zoom, to focus you turn the whole gigantic front element but it is very smooth. I call it the baymaster lens. nikon nikkor 50-300mm & 400 MM TCs Pelican Case #8 by Rafael Batlle, on Flickr
