Yeah, if it's the recall thing, Nikon likely has to crack the camera open and work its way from the back to the front where the mount's mechanism is. Then it gotta put all the pieces back together perfectly. There's no reason why the shutter is messed up like that if the recall repair can be performed from the outside (i.e. just replacing the mount).
