The Canon 15mm FE is inexpensive used, small, lightweight and its optics are reasonably good enough for what I use it for. Its low-tech AF may work well enough for what you need it for and if not than set it to manual. Its AF may be able to get the focus into the ball park due to its large depth of focus. If using the camera’s AF mode and manually selecting the focus point(s) is too cumbersome then try having the camera control AF point selection in one of its zone modes.
My 15 is one of my least used lenses however I occasionally like its fishy look for the fun of it. I haven't tried it out for sports action. Due to its small size and weight it rides around everywhere in my camera backpack just in case.
