I thought I would post this here as well.
Nikon Z8 and Z9 both throttle back FPS from 20 fps to 15 fps at shutter speeds of 1/200th and slower.
In"discovered" this while operationally testing 4 bodies (2 Z9 and 2 Z8) after obtaining unusually long bursts in buffer tests across a range of my fastest cards. I looked in detail at the images -- which included shots of a stopwatch running with 1/100th second intervals to discover that when the shutter speed is lowered from 1/250th to 1/200th 20 fps becomes 15.
And so now 1 day later and having reset all my settings on 4 bodies and reloaded them all to discover something basic -- Thom Hogan included a note on this in his book -- nothing I could remember seeing in any other reference. But then there is was on page 134 of the Reference Guide - but not in language that responded to my search.
