My first Swallow in flight shot. I have only ever tried a couple of times previously but never been successful as they fly so erratically that I just gave up after a short attempt. I know you have to get to spot where there are more predictable flight patterns and observe their flight paths but I have never been that patient. Today I was at a pond with my Z9 + 800 PF and there were a few flying round and dipping the water etc and I thought I would give it a try. I was lucky enough to get a sequence of about 10 shots all in focus, but a few shots had their nicitating membranes over their eyes or their wings at the wrong angle or whatever. I did get a couple of decent ones where their wings were in good position but trying to follow them with an 800mm is difficult! I need to find a spot with more predictable flight paths! The swallow shots are all close to 100% crops.
