It's disappointing that Sigma has not used better weather sealing in these I-series lenses. A rubber mount gasket alone just doesn't cut it for me. I understand hitting a price point. But they're exactly the same price as the little Sony 24/40/50 G lenses which have linear motors and full sealing. I hope Sony expands that compact lineup with something like the 17 and 90mm Sigma options.

I agree about the lack of full WS, but Sigma I Series now has 4 that are f2 apertures, where the Sony’s are all 2/3 or a full stop slower. The faster aperture is more important to me and I intend to take my Sigma I series 24 f2, 35 f2, 65 f2 and 90 f2.8 to Thailand for 2 months this summer and use during the Monsoon season. I will have a small Storm Jacket camera/lens cover to use as needed as my A7RIV is not the best weather sealed body either.

And Sony puts this footnote into the specs of the small G lenses. “ *Not guaranteed to be 100% dust and moisture proof. ” Which is probably their way to say that if the lens fails because of water intrusion they are not covered by the warranty.
