Let us know how the setup works for you. I tried traveling with only an Ipad a few years ago but the difficulty of moving images from my cards to my hard disk was too difficult for ease of use. I understand things have much improved and I may try again. I have an older 11" Pro (before M1) with 256. I may try the double transfer technique when I have some time. However a single transfer is much more appealing (SD card through the Ipad to SSD va a hub. Hopefully someone will perfect a solution for this,
