This is why I wanted the 800PF. While I enjoy photographing birds, I love wildlife landscapes.
I've seen a coyote in this area about once a month. When I seen, it's gone quicker than my ability to grab a lens and shoot. On Sunday I caught a glimpse of it on a hill and it began to retreat. I grabbed the 800PF and ran parallel to the woods, and it appeared once again.
In my haste I forgot to activate VR (had just been shooting from a tripod w/ VR off). Fortunately, 20fps saved me, and I managed to nail a few in focus shots...
Both images were taken in DX mode... so 1200mm field of view @ 1/1200 second w/out VR!
