Do you see much of a difference from...
DIGIC 8.
DIGIC X.
Dual Pixel CMOS AF II, Eye Control AF.
.
Also, with the camera bodies that have in body image stabilization, does that work with with an IS Lens ?
.
I have the 7D, 90D & 6D2, just looking at the next step.

I'm no pro Bill, but I thought the Digic question was interesting. Worth reading through this: https://snapshot.canon-asia.com/article/eng/canon-technology-explainer-what-is-digic.

So it looks like Digic 8 was 2018, and Digic X was 2020. Your 6DII and my 5DIV are from 2018, so I assume they are Digic 8. My R5 is Digic X. In my opinion, the R5 blows the 5DIV away shooting action stills (I don't do any video). Not sure how much of that is Digic X, but I bet it's a lot, particularly for AF.

These mirrorless cameras are revolutionary compared to the DSLRs - as far as the cameras themselves go, the leap from Digic 8 to Digic X is probably bigger than any of the prior versions.

The AF of the R5 with Dual Pixel CMOS AF II is much better than my 5DIV. It gives you so many options, including eye detection. There's something like 1,000 AF zones across the viewfinder. It's amazing watching the eye detection system follow the subject across the viewfinder, even if you are not panning.

I haven't used the Eye Control AF. Usually Jim would be a good source, but this time he is not shooting the R3 flagship.

The in-body IS does work with an EF lens with IS. I believe you get better IS than the EF lens on a DSLR, but not as good as you would get with an RF version of the same lens.

Hope this helps.
