The Ptarmigan Traverse is one of my favourite alpine routes in Washington state. On September 2020 we saw nearly 700 people on the Cascade Pass trail within a few hours. Saw no one else as soon as we turned onto the Ptarmigan Traverse which went on for several days. Even Downey Creek had complete solitude. So many exciting climbs along this route.
