The wobble is a real thing, but only because video is recording the actual focussing method (of course). We have a 4-camera all-Panasonic live-to-disk studio for our video recordings, and the wobble has not been a problem for us, at all. And the user would not even notice this movement when shooting stills, I believe.

Faster processors will improve the DFD approach, I'm sure. I have held off from getting a G9, only because we have our house listed, and these are uncertain times. If it's the last Panasonic stills-oriented camera, that will be a pity (I think its shape and ergonomics are more attractive than the G5-G6 series cameras).
