@Wilbus: that was a superb comparison, my friend, and I was an Aperture power users (as a professional photographer, often handling many GB of images from location shoots that went a week to ten days). What a crime Apple committed when they dropped that one! Luckily I retired the photography side of our business. I have been playing with Affinity Photo since, but DXO sounds promising.
I will bookmark this page and come back to it. I sincerely appreciate the time it took to write this up.
Not back to the G9 (my next camera, I think).
