Yesterday the monsoon moisture was intense in San Diego, we do not get the rain Tucson does as we are in the wrong side of the mountains for that flow, but we did get a weird sunset - a color the thorium lens loved
The 70mm 5 micro came, lens itself is like new, will show it later. Build of this lens is heavy and dense, looks like a 5cm 2.8 enlarger lens but it is significantly bigger and heavier. Glass would support 2.8 aperture but there is a fixed aperture setting it to 5.0 max to assure its performance.
Lens was easy to deploy accurately with a Lei-Nik Novoflex adapter on a Kipon F to Z focusing helicoid.
I was very impressed with the performance, the Z6 is not enough camera for a lens like this, it will support a 55mm image circle, good for large format.
These are test shots at 5.0, the first is a TV screen, it needs to be seen at 100% on flicker to see how well the pixels are rendered sharp and distortion free corner to corner.
The next two test shots are of small leaf trees, and encina and a Peruvian pepper tree. The level of detail is incredible, need to be seen really large. The Redbook pages do not do justice to its performance, their samples are not very sharp.
