Today our local Leica Factory Representative Mike flew int town to hold a demo day where we could try all the leica cameras and some lenses. After a breif demo at Georges Camera Store we all went to the Japanese Friendship Garden in Balboa Park to try them out. It was a great time, and we learned a lot.
It was a really bright sunny day. We were shooting at mid day. It was really high contrast, difficult light. So, I spent a lot of time shooting some indoor scenes, and poking around in the shadows. I shot all day with my new Leica 50mm F/2 Summicron v5 for the first time. The build and handling are amazing. I am much more comfortable with my 28MM Ultron, so it will take some getting used to. I find I must mostly focus on my subject to get crisp images rather than rely on Zone focus.
Anyway I will be posting some imagtes from the even over the next couple of days.
Here is the first image. It is a reflection shot of a man walking by a window. The japanese architecture in the garden is very interesting.
