Hi Ron,

I have dug up the comments and will elaborate here.

As usual, things didn't go quite as planned. I really didn't have that much say in where we went or what we saw. And everyone was always waiting for my especially since I didn't have any AF lenses with me. If I ever go on a trip like this again with my wife with or without my step daughter I will need at least 1 AF lens. So, it took me time to manual focus at maximum magnification and recompose. I believe that I only carried and used my monopod in Rome the first day and only used my tripod for one day as well. So I shot everything hand held with IBIS with my A1 and my Kolari Vision UT sensor modified A7rII. I started carrying the 2 cameras and 4 lenses in the 2 Kinesis Gear Pouches and stopped using the Mindshift Gear Backlight 26L photo Backpack as often as possible. Also, didn't do much in changing lenses and relied on using my A1 with my Voigtlander 50mm f2 Apo-Lanthar Asph lens. The belt that I had didn't really help much taking the weight off of my neck with the 2 Kinesis gear pouchs so I started throwing 1 pouch over my head and across my shoulder with one on each side. I was extremely pleased with my A1 with the Voigtlander 50mm lens combination. The A1 is easily my favorite Sony Body with its EVF. I was stunned with the sharpness and clarity relying on IBIS at ISO 1600. I only took the time to use the Voigtlander 90mm f2.8 Apo-Skopar to take some closer photos of the David in the Academy in Firenze (Florence) and didn't use the Minolta 40mm f2 M-Rokkor or the Leica R 180mm f3.4 Apo-Telyt lenses at all. I would have to check more carefully through my photos, I may have only used my Leica M WATE when used on a monopod when photographing the Trevi Fountain with my Kolari Vision UT sensor modified camera. I mainly just kept the Voigtlander 50mm on the A1 and to a lesser extent the Voitlander 28mm f2 Ultron II on the A7rII Kolari Vision UT sensor modified camera due to needing to photograph faster with less time and less weight.

I didn't have time to use filters for my photographs since everyone was always asking where is Rich?

As to the cobblestones, it was good that I did not take a Thinktank roller. They were a PIA for luggage and particularly for my wife with her rollator.

I had purchased many additional Sandisk 64 GB 170 MB/Second Extreme Pro cards. In fact I was prepared to take 20,000 images with the cards which I could back up. As it turns out, I only took a little more than 2,000 including many many dupes to make sure of the exposure and the images were sharp. Additionally in the museums for many of the works of Art I took a photo of the descritpition to know what I had photographed.

Due to not having much say in where we were going and when we went and returned, I wasn't able to get out at my preferred times to take photos early in the day and late in the day for better lighting. My wife, her daughter, and her daugter's friend were really foodies and liked to eat well so that at times interfered. Yes, I liked the food and I enjoyed it, but I am out taking photos I normally put much more interest in the images and where I am than for the food.

As to not having a laptop computer with me, I did not find it an issue. And the NEXTO DI NPS-10 Nexto Photo Storage unit with the internal Crucial 2 TB SSD and the back-up Sandisk 2TB Extreme SSD V2 worked extremely well. I downloaded the photo files from my cards almost every day. Since I my purchase, the NEXTO DI NPS-10 Nexto Photo Storage unit is no longer available (may have been discontinued) and I am not sure if the manufacturer has gone out of business.
