I think the Z9 will really shine with the 400S and TCs.
The good news is that 500PF with TCx2 would not AF at all with D850 (and I assume D6 but never tried this combination)
and overall I think I still get better keeper rate with 500PF with Z9 than D6 even. But the bad news is that Z mount native lens do work even better. 100-400+ TCx2 at F11 can track at least bigger slower bird in flight such as egrets perfectly fine. I have not try anything faster though. I definitely am looking forward to what the 400/2.8s could do.
