I want to have the fake shutter sound at level 1 but that click gives me nightmares of shooting a DSLR dinosaur with a mirror clacking out of the way into LV or playback.

I do. That is IBIS parking. If you turn VR off, it does not make that sound when you push menu or play. So Nikon did not add any sound.
So if Nikon can stop it parking in Silent mode then I wish there would be a way to have it not park but still give me fake shutter. That is my request.
If that is IBIS, then why is it so loud? No other IBIS camera I have is loud like that when it parks.
I didn’t build it, I am just telling you what it is. Sorry, you have to take or leave the camera as a package. Sorry the tiny sound bothers you so much. Just shoot silent mode. That is why there is a silent mode.
