Re: Z9: Countdown to air shipment and release.......

For me, it was just a warped sense of loyalty to Nikon (the underdog) at the time - now they're caught up.
I am really happy for the pros (who stayed with Nikon and didn't bail even though there was good reason to)
to be getting their z9. Nikon needs to hold pros in, and show the Associated Press and other agencies which
switched to Sony, etc, that Nikon's back in the game. Amateurs shooting z9s won't get them noticed by big agencies, so they rightfully prioritized NPS orders.
I am sure they knew some amateurs would be annoyed and cancel, but they took a calculated risk.

Personally though, I had set a deadline in my mind, which was mid-Jan.
After that, if I didn't get the z9, I planned to switch to Sony, which has had world-class AF for years,
while still shooting minimal Nikon, to stay in touch with Nikon-land, and because I prefer Nikon for landscapes and portraits.

Why does that bother any of you NPS members

In fact, I'd started the process of NPS membership and got this email from them after a few days .. but dropped it.
Reason I dropped it is because I realized I was not doing the right thing - I do not derive much income from Photography.
