A year ago I was at the height of my personal anxiety level, partly due to the effects of the pandemic. My loving and supportive wife encouraged me to hit the road for photographic therapy so a few days before Christmas I packed our camp trailer and drove west. Zion was one of my primary destinations but I had only shot there during vibrant autumn and spring previously, so was hoping winter would still reveal beauty to my eyes. Thankfully I did find great inspiration wandering the canyons and delighting in the graphic quality of bare cottonwoods, colorful rock walls, and more.
Wishing each one of you a peaceful and joyful season!

In Search of Winter Inspiration at Zion National Park
A year ago I was at the height of my personal anxiety level. During the pandemic I had not been out in the field nearly as much as I need for mental health, and the rising Covid level during the holidays had set me on edge. My loving and supportive wife encouraged me to hit the road and not worry about anything while she stayed at home, so a few days before Christmas I packed our little camp trailer and drove west.
Zion was one of my primary goals but I had only shot there during the colorful and vibrant autumn and spring in previous years, so I was hoping winter would still reveal beauty to my eyes. Happy to say I found massive inspiration wandering the canyons and delighting in the graphic quality of bare cottonwoods, rugged rock walls, and more. It ended up being the outdoor therapy I desperately needed 😍
Hope you enjoy these views, and I wish each one of you a peaceful and joyful season!
