Beautiful image Buddy! I did the update and found the same thing that you did. Actually kind of a bad marketing move by Canon to release that firmware update as the R3 is being shipped...... Seems to me that, except for the Eye AF, this update moves the R5 very close to the R3's overall performance, only with 50MP.....?? I tested the updated R5, then let the results simmer in my mind for a couple of days, along with the comment Douglas made about 24mp and our ability to crop a 50MP image. This morning I sent an email to my supplier in Austin telling him to cancel my R3 order. Spending six grand to split hairs suddenly became clearly absurd to me, especially knowing that I'll order two R1's the second they are announced. Now I'm glad that Canon drug their feet a little on shipping mine, it gave me time to come to my senses.
