You have a lot of DOF for a shot at 1.2.
Cropping reduces the DOF.
Not if it was shot from 20 feet away... and then cropped... vs shooting from 10 feet away.

Photo shot at 20 feet away has 3.48ft DOF
Photo shot at 10 feet away has 0.86ft DOF
