I was using it on mirrorless cameras (A9 II and an A7R IV), so calibration should not have been a factor. In any case, the lens was sent back to the Sigma distributor, and it was returned with a clean bill of health, so definitely not. calibration issue, just a mediocre lens.

I suppose that if you use these lenses on a lower-resolution body and crank up the sharpening and contrast in post, you might not see much difference.

The acutance and contrast were pretty similar to the new Sigma 150-600mm f5-6.3 DG DN Sports lens I tested recently - pretty good, but a notch below similar Canon or Sony glass.

I suppose that if you use these lenses on a lower-resolution body and crank up the contrast in post, you might not see much difference.
