To answer your question, 12mm on the 12-24mm can be fun and addicting.

Which wide angle lens would you see as the best addition to the Tamron 35-150 ? And why?
(Of course this depends on the user case).
I'd imagine for ultimate IQ, the 12-24GM would be the best zoom option. For premium AF primes, any single or combo of: 14GM, 20G, 24GM, or Batis 18. Manual primes would include favorites like the CV21, Loxia 21, etc. Budget/value AF primes would likely be Tamron 20 and 24 f/2.8, Samyang 24 1.8, or Sigma i24 f/2 or f/3.5,
Budget zooms would include the Sigma 14-24 and Tamron 17-28.
I'm planning to purchase and compare the 16-35GM, and if I can find a copy that is as sharp as my Sigma 14-24, I'll switch to the GM and sell the Sigma. Main reason I'm hoping to switch to the 16-35GM is because I'd like to only have to carry one set of 82mm filters. The Sigma currently requires either 150mm filters or internal clip filters. I've been using the Kase clip filters, which work admirably, but sometimes I'd like to remove an ND without having to take the lens off and deal with juggling things around with the sensor exposed. I'd also like to further reduce things down to just one filter set that will work with the 82mm diameter of both the 16-35GM and T35-150. So for me and my goals, a 16-35GM that is as sharp as my Sigma through the 16-24 range is what I'm hoping for.
Honestly, I'd LOVE for Tamron to release a 15-30 or 15-35 designed for mirrorless but with the same quality and build of this 35-150 and 28-75 G2. I loved my Tamron 15-30 when I had my D810.
