Definitely makes sense on the tripod use then. I can see all of that. I also have a carbon fiber Weifeng tripod (not sure they are made any longer, but it is quite nice), so I have that available too. I rarely use that too, but again, as I get older I want things to be easier, so those may start to be utilized.
I do have the M50 for travel, and it is a great mirrorless option, and takes even a wider range of lenses than the R6 and 5D4. I would likely use that more for hiking too, as I have a 12mm f2, 50 1.2, and then a couple EFS lenses all of which fit into a bag that is about 1/3 the size of my other gear bag. Battery life is terrible though.
I didn't originally see your post because when you use the Hide function, the way Fred has it wired up is that it also hides anybody else's replies where they have quoted that person. So I have to unHide, see your post, then reHide. It kinda makes that function a pain to use IMO.
