Just shot a wedding in October with the 5DS and an EOS R. If I knelt to your Dodo religion, I wouldn't have mounted the Contax Zeiss 28mm on my R6 today.
DSLRs will be alive as long as they are for sale, and as long as there are parts and service centers for them.
