My Sony RMT-P1BT died and I replaced it with this one:

About a third of the cost of the Sony and having identical features and performance.

Sometimes the P1BT will "die" when all that is wrong is the electrical contact blades in the battery compartment need to be bent a bit so they make good contact with the battery terminals. There are two blades in the bottom of the compartment that make contact with the negative surface. Bend them up slightly so they press firmly against the battery when it's installed. The most likely problem is the small blade on the upper left side that makes contact with the positive terminal. Flex it inward so it presses firmly against the side of the battery when it's inserted.

If you make sure the battery is making good electrical contact sometimes the dead remote control is revived. It's happened to me a couple of times.

I bought the same remote for my A1. It is getting power as the red light blinks and I was able to pair the remote with my camera. Bluetooth is on. Airplane mode is off.
I press the shutter button and nothing happens. Any ideas?
