What a face palm from Tony to have this video released ahead of time. Sony must be royally pi-ed + many people won't view the real one tomorrow, thus his views, i.e. income, will go down. Major faux pas!
I hope Sony stops sending him gear to review and fines him the amount written in the NDA, which could be substantial, normally it's enough to discourage you from even trying.
If not, then I'll be disappointed in Sony actually.
If Sony does nothing then I think it's a big win for Tony because of all the publicity the video created for his channel, which in turn will result in increased income.
I remember something similar happened with the A7siii, and I don't think Sony fined the German guys. So maybe Tony knew about it and thought he could get away with it?
It seems unlikely it was done maliciously. In fact, the video itself looks unfinished. I’m speculating, but based on that I doubt Sony will do anything besides a “talking to.” Despite the general tone here toward Northrup, his channel is very popular, the camera specs were already leaked on SAR and Sony itself tagged the teaser video with all of the same specs. As many in this thread have pointed out, the video didn’t show us anything we weren’t really expecting. Is Sony willing to damage that relationship in order to enforce an apparent breach of an NDA where most of the information had already become public knowledge?
