Yeah, he still around and looking good.
For a while after last years rut, he was injured, pretty bad.
He had an abscess just in front of one of his rear legs, and he really couldn't run.
But he made it through.
Two other bucks, we're pretty sure they were poached after the rut.
These deer live in a state park, and some of our group that photograph them found blood trails and arrows.
(and there was no herd thinner hunt going on)
Yeah, two of the big boys were gone around Thanksgiving.
Notch, he was a 20 point buck 3 years in a row, and Spur, only an 8 pointer, but a massive buck.
This year already, arrows have been found, and two more of our larger bucks haven't been seen for a while.
One of them, Zorro, is a 10 year old, I think he's an 11 point buck. When he's around, he's the king.
Last year, both Notch and Spur tried to dethrone him, it didn't happen.
After their battles when they saw Zorro, they walked a long way around him.
Every rut is a little different, so it's had to say what this year will bring.
I'm just hoping to get there often to watch it unfold.
