Yeah the foxes are nearly a guarantee in their mating season, but the mountain lions and bears are highly elusive. I've seen 1 mountain lion in 35'ish years of photography and mountain biking and never a bear, even though they are around.

Also, bobcats are everywhere, but again extremely difficult to locate. So if you stay in So Cal, you're mostly sticking to the birds. Luckily, there are a ton to choose from.
