I am interested in the Leica B&W emulations on offer here, but I am not really familiar with the differences between the various Leica monochrome implementations.
Can someone help me a bit with distinguishing between the image characteristics and qualities of the Leica Monochrom CCD Emulation and the Leica Monochrom CMOS Emulation?
Thanks.
They are just different, a different spectral sensibility makes the difference as their original cameras.
on this image
on the left is the CCD d65, on the right the CMOS d65
Thanks, the example and the article are helpful.
It would be good to have more side by side comparisons of the two Monochrom emulations, since they are so closely related but still different.
about ccd vs cmos... is a long journey, about the differences only in b&w signatures of both cameras, there are many articles, not so many specifically writen in the output quality of the mono rendering (almost any article write just about the faster new m246, the High iso.. silly no one is writing asbout the specral sensibility....)
