But also because of the thickness, when i put the 3-D print lens hood in reverse position, it's pretty tight and takes a bit of effort to squeeze in. I am wondering what lens cover you folks are using on your 600 GM? I see RolandPro and some other skin type covers are being used as well.

None. I used 'em on other big primes in the past, but I find that they're just not needed.
