Percentage wise, it's a grain of sand. Or salt, in may people's cases. Guesstimate 2M sales of the A7 III since launch. 2K is only 1/10 of a percent. Even 10K is still not even 1 percent. Even if there were only 1.5M sales.
If all the serial numbers of the cameras mentioned in the lawsuit line up, then yes, it could be a defective batch, which should be covered free of charge. If not, that's life. That's how camera shutters are. Otherwise, here's prime info for more cameras that need to be recalled via lawsuit:
