Overall AF better than the R5? No...flat out no....the only point I'll concede is that Bird-Eye AF in some tricky situations with messy background is better on the R5.

I remember you mentioning that the A1 is equal if not slightly better than a9II in terms of AF. And that a9II does better tracking than the canon R5 (from older posts). I have translated the above as "A1 has overall better AF than the R5". Your comment that R5's BEAF recognizes slightly greater variety of birds is also clear and noted but does it necessarily reflect overall AF speed and tracking?
