E-mount lens has rounded aperture at f2, f2.8, f5.6, f16 and weight is 352 g (not bad). Official price is 120 000 JPY before tax which is not bad at all (same as official price for 50/2 APO in Japan). Street price will be a bit lower, still waiting for Map Camera to list it.
It seems to be longer than 50/2 APO but it's lighter and the included hood seems to be quite much shorter. For VM version there is no hood in the box and it has to be bought separately (official price for the VM hood is 10000 JPY).
This lens ticks a lot of boxes for me vs. my FE 35mm f2.8 ZA and will replace it. It's still very small and relatively lightweight for an all metal build at 352g, uses the same 49mm filter thread, plus will (hopefully) be sharper across the frame at more open apertures like the 50mm APO. With my ZA I pretty much set it to f5.6 and used it there. This lens will pair up nicely with my C/V 21mm f3.5.
The rounded aperture seems different than other lenses. So at f2, 2.8, 5.6 and 16 its rounded but at f4, 8 and 11 (using full f-stops) it will produce 24 point sunstars? If so that is good, for landscapes I can not have sunstars at f5.6 but can at f8 or 11.
