Sorry, but that is your opinion. It is possible, but you can't say it with this certainty.
It does indeed appear to be a QC issue. It is reported the front ring of the lens is falling off. Since the lens hood can reverse mount and will rest against this ring, this can certainly be a issue down the line as the ring will be having pressure applied against it.
