Haven't checked in for a while...At the suggestion of Dan (danpbphoto), I drove to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania yesterday after the snow storm to "hunt" for red barns and covered bridges and found quite a few in and around the National Military Park (the Gettysburg battle field). There is something special about red barns in snow.

The covered bridge in the last two pictures is the Sachs Covered Bridge, originally built in 1854, used by both the Union army and the Confederate Army during the Gettysburg battle.

Wish my MATA friends a Merry Christmas and a healthy New Year!

Douglas

Douglas these are just beautiful!!!!! I am so happy yesterday worked for you!
Just really fine compositions!

Oh, and yes, Douglas, you continue to amaze me Buddy. Your dedication to capturing beautiful compositions is admirable, distance, early departures, frigid temperatures, no hurdles for your creative eyes, well done!!

Thank you, gentlemen! Dan, thank you for the real time weather condition updates! I wish there were some clouds for the sunset but one can't get too greedy. I will be back to Gettysburg when the next snow storm hits! I have developed a fixation for red barns in snow.

Just a few more for the Christmas mood.

SPECTACULAR Douglas!!! Love the "selective coloring"!!!!

How about a blue barn?
Again your framing on the Codori Barn is just wonderful! Cunningham Falls is a great place also if the water is frozen.
