Had the time this year, and James III loves decorations and decorating, so we went full out. Just wrapped it up a few minutes ago.....................
OK, I’ve run this past senior management. You have full approval and JIII is cleared to launch in the natty wee rig on the left of picture. Did himself see this in the dark yet – did you have an official turning on of the lights?
Good Morning/Afternoon Nick,
When we got the plane inflated and we were working on the "runway lights", James walked over and put his hand on the lower wing, turned to me and said, "Papa, take plane way up sky............" All the kids had been flying with me frequently by the time they were James' age, but I had the Skylane and could take them in their car seats. James hasn't been up yet because the Cub obviously doesn't offer the comfort and security the Skylane did. I was going to check out in the flying school's late model skylane for that very reason, but the guy who had it on leaseback moved up to a Seneca before I had the chance. I have been thinking about a 182 or an A36 but given the administration change I do not have the confidence for that investment at the moment. I had four planes when Barack took office in 2008, my phone quit ringing for a year and a half and anyone with any kind of aircraft, or really any outward sign of being successful, was being demonized. Recognizing the handwriting on the wall, four airplanes shrunk to one, hated it, but you do what you have to to survive. Before anyone jumps on me, that's not partisan, that's just reality, deal with it, I had to. I do not expect the robust economy that we have experienced one the past four years, pre-covid, to return with the new administration, we'll see, I so hope that I am all wrong, but I am already seeing upward trends stumbling in general aviation acquisitions up through small and medium sized business jets.
