Sharpness issues on a high-res body? Check the lens filter first.
UPDATED THREAD TITLE to remove “R5 lockups and sensor alignment”, which turned out to not be the issue.
My R5 sensor sharpness across the frame was perfect until I started having lockups. Now the entire left edge (when shooting horizontally) of the image frame at infinity focus is blurred and not in alignment.
EDIT: Updated outcome – appears it might have been a defective B+W clear lens filter. Other lenses like my RF 50 that seemed to be showing the same issue was probably user error. Both the RF 50 and 15-35 are giving good results today.
